Mumbai, Apr 14: A 32-year-old married woman from Andheri has accused a former friend of blackmailing her with private videos, leading to his arrest by Khar Police.

The accused, identified as Rohit alias Ramprasad Narayan Pandey, allegedly recorded intimate moments with the woman without her knowledge and later demanded Rs 2 lac, threatening to circulate the footage on social media.

According to police, the woman had developed a romantic relationship with Pandey, who works as a security guard. Their physical relationship turned exploitative when the accused began extorting money using the videos.

Following the complaint, Pandey was traced to Vile Parle and arrested with the help of Juhu Police. His mobile phone, suspected to contain the videos, has been seized for forensic analysis.

He was produced before the Bandra court and remanded to police custody. Further investigations are underway to check for similar offences.
