Udupi, Apr 14: A tragic road accident occurred near Gampa Cross, Hiriyadka, under the jurisdiction of the Hiriyadka police station on Monday, April 14.
A private bus and a pickup vehicle collided head-on, resulting in the death of a co-passenger on the spot and leaving the pickup driver critically injured.
According to reports, the pickup vehicle was traveling from Karkala to Udupi, while the private bus was en route from Udupi to Karkala. The impact of the collision was so intense that the pickup vehicle split into two pieces.
The injured driver has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities from the Hiriyadka police station have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
