Maharashtra governor, CM offer tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his birth anniversary

Mumbai, Apr 16: Maharashtra governor C P Radhakrishnan accompanied by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Chaityabhumi Memorial of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar and garlanded his bust on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Architect of the Constitution in Mumbai on Monday, April 14. ‘Trisharan Buddha Vandana’ was recited on the occasion.

The governor and the chief minister visited the exhibition of rare photographs of Dr Ambedkar put up by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and later offered flowers at the Bheem Jyot. The governor presented the holy clothes (Chivar) to the Bhikkhus on the occasion.

Deputy chief ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Ram Shinde, deputy speaker of Maharashtra Assembly Anna Bansode, minister of cultural affairs Ashish Shelar, minister of social justice Sanjay Shirsat, soil and water conservation minister Sanjay Rathod, former MP Rahul Shewale, chief secretary Sujata Saunik, municipal administrator Bhushan Gagrani, principal secretary Dr Harshdeep Kamble, secretary to the governor Dr Prashant Narnaware, executive president, Bharatiya Bauddha Mahasabha Bhimrao Ambedkar, Bhadant Dr Rahul Bodhi Mahathero, Nagsen Kamble, officials and prominent persons were present.
