Kasargod, Apr 15: In a shocking incident reported from Bedadka in Kasargod, a 22-year-old woman who was undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries at a hospital in Mangaluru succumbed to her injuries. The victim was allegedly set on fire by a miscreant in an act of revenge after she filed a police complaint against him.

The deceased has been identified as Ramitha (22) of Bedadka, who ran a shop in Mannadka. The incident occurred on April 8. The accused, identified as Ramakrith (57), a native of Tamil Nadu and owner of a nearby furniture store, had allegedly committed the heinous act.

According to sources, Ramakrith, who was often in an inebriated state, had been harassing Ramitha. Following repeated instances of harassment, Ramitha had filed a complaint against him at the Bedadka police station. Enraged by the complaint, the accused reportedly entered her grocery store around 3 pm on April 8, poured thinner on her, and set her ablaze.

Despite being rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru with critical burn injuries, Ramitha succumbed to her injuries on Monday night.

Eyewitnesses stated that after committing the act, the accused attempted to flee but was caught by local residents and handed over to the police.

RIP. She might have gone to heaven and He will go to hell unless repented of his alcoholism and brutality. Instead of revenge better love your enemies than an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. So that more will go to heaven, less in hell or hellish situations and also instead of unforgiveness, vengeance and hatred, which lead to more violences, disasters, which is not from God!?

The people who advocate peace are sidelined and pushed back while people who support violence are glorified. It is sad , but hope and pray this phase too will pass.

@Champlin Udipi, nothing will bring back that girl.a big loss to her parents.May her soul rest in peace. What all people do when someone is better in business and nextone not so successful.Naturally when he is drunken and may be harassing young girls? He should be punished now for life long in jail.Let him repent his crime and beg God for forgiveness. He should pay her hospital bills and pay her family compansation.May her soul rest in peace.
