Hisar, Apr 16: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across Haryana, a woman and her lover have been arrested for the brutal murder of her husband in Hisar district. The crime unfolded in the town of Premnagar, where 32-year-old Raveena, an aspiring social media influencer, and her lover Suresh allegedly strangled her husband to death with a dupatta before dumping his body with chilling precision.

According to police sources, Raveena had met Suresh on Instagram, where the two bonded over short video content creation. Despite opposition from her husband Praveen and his family, the duo continued making reels and dance videos for over a year and a half, amassing over 34,000 followers on Instagram.

On the night of March 25, tensions escalated when Praveen caught the two in a compromising situation, leading to a violent confrontation. In the heat of the moment, Raveena and Suresh allegedly strangled him using a dupatta. Attempting to cover up the crime, Raveena feigned ignorance when questioned about her husband's sudden disappearance.

Investigators later uncovered that around 2:30 am the same night, the duo transported Praveen’s lifeless body on a motorcycle and disposed of it in a drain on Dinnod Road, approximately six kilometres from Raveena’s residence in Gujron ki Dhani, near the old bus stand.

Three days later, on March 28, the Sadar police discovered Praveen’s decomposing body. CCTV footage from nearby roads provided a crucial breakthrough. It showed a helmet-clad man with a masked woman riding pillion. The body was sandwiched between them. Notably, they were seen returning two hours later – the body missing, but the duo still on the same bike.

The accused, Raveena and Suresh, have been taken into custody and remanded to judicial jail. Meanwhile, the couple’s six-year-old son is now in the care of Praveen’s father Subhash and his uncle Sandeep.

This gruesome murder bears eerie similarities to a case last month in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, where a woman and her lover murdered her husband, dismembered the body, and sealed it in a cement-filled drum, sending shockwaves throughout the nation.
