Andhra Pradesh, Apr 17: In a significant display of international collaboration, US Sailors and Marines joined forces with Indian military personnel during Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025. The bilateral tri-service exercise, conducted from April 1 to 11, aimed to enhance operational capabilities and strengthen the military partnership between the United States and India.
The US Navy shared highlights of the joint training on social media platform X, emphasizing the cutting-edge technology and operational readiness that were put to the test. "ICYMI: U.S. & Indian forces took teamwork to the next level at exercise Tiger Triumph 2025, utilizing cutting-edge tech for joint training & operational readiness," the US Navy tweeted. The video caption also stressed the collaborative nature of the exercise, underscoring how the event enhanced military capabilities and strengthened bonds within the Indo-Pacific Command region.
The fourth edition of the Bilateral Tri-Service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise culminated with a Distinguished Visitors' (DV) Day held at Kakinada on April 11. The event saw senior military dignitaries, including the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area, the US Consular General, and commanders from both the US and Indian military forces, witnessing the flawless execution of complex operations.
The DV Day showcased impressive military drills at Kakinada, such as Standoffs, Hard Beaching, and Slithering Operations by Special Operations Forces. Additionally, C130 Aircraft, Mi17V5 helicopters, and integrated Air Operations were part of the joint efforts, demonstrating the high level of interoperability and combined combat readiness achieved by both nations. These operations reflected the strengthened military cooperation between the US and India, with both sides integrating their capabilities to respond effectively to humanitarian and disaster relief situations.
The exercise, which took place from April 1 to 11, focused on enhancing training in HADR operations and allowed participants to familiarize themselves with each other's techniques, procedures, and capabilities. The first edition of Exercise Tiger Triumph was held in 2019, and since then, it has evolved into a critical platform for strengthening operational synergies between the two militaries, facilitated by the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA).
The Harbour Phase of the exercise, which took place at Visakhapatnam from April 1-7, included Pre-Sail Conferences, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), and discussions on key technologies such as medical advancements, drones, and space operations. Cross-deck visits, ship boarding drills, and friendly sports fixtures were also part of the Harbour Phase, further fostering camaraderie and understanding between the forces.
The successful completion of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 marks another milestone in the growing defense cooperation between the United States and India, contributing to regional security and peace through strengthened military partnerships.
