New Delhi, Apr 17: In a significant blow to the interstate drug network, the Delhi Police Crime Branch, in a joint operation with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), cracked down on a high-level heroin syndicate operating across state lines. The bust led to the seizure of 341 grams of high-purity heroin, with an estimated street value of Rs 1 crore in the international market.

Three suspects — Farman, Shadaab, and Sikander — were apprehended from Zakir Nagar, a locality in the national capital, following a series of well-coordinated raids.

The operation was executed by a specialized team including Sub-Inspector Rohit, ASI Sanjay, and Head Constables Amit, Sharwan, Pramod, Naveen, and Pawan. The task force operated under the leadership of Inspector Vijender Singh and ACP Rajkumar, who led the crackdown based on actionable intelligence.

Initial arrests began with Farman, who was caught carrying 315 grams of heroin. During questioning, he identified Shadaab as a key link in the chain. The team swiftly moved in and detained Shadaab, recovering 26 grams of heroin in the process. Shadaab then revealed his supplier — Sikander, originally from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, but currently residing in Zakir Nagar. Within 24 hours, all three were taken into custody.

Police investigations suggest that all three accused are school dropouts and drug users who gradually evolved into traffickers in pursuit of fast money. Initially working as e-commerce delivery agents, including for Blinkit, Farman and Shadaab began using their delivery jobs as a cover to distribute narcotics.

“With rising demand, they reached out to Iliyas from Pilibhit, who acted as a supplier. This network helped them scale their operations,” stated the police.

Authorities have now shifted their focus to Shairpur in Uttar Pradesh, where further leads are being followed to trace the entire drug distribution chain involved in this growing network.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are confident that more arrests will follow as they widen the scope of the probe across state borders.
