Mumbai, Apr 21: A shocking incident unfolded at Worli Seaface on Saturday, April 19, when a 35-year-old man stabbed a woman in the back with a glass shard, following a minor altercation. The incident, which has left the locality in fear, took place over a seemingly trivial issue – a woman's umbrella brushing against the accused.
The woman, identified as Anita Balu Patkar, was hurriedly rushed to KEM Hospital in Parel after sustaining injuries. Following a complaint filed by her son, Sandeep Balu Patkar, the Worli police swung into action, and within five hours, the accused was apprehended. The police launched an extensive search operation and examined CCTV footage from the vicinity to locate the perpetrator.

The accused, identified as Sachin Bhagwan Avasarmol (35), a resident of Chikalthana in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, was tracked down in the nearby Premnagar area. Police found him and arrested him for the shocking attack on the unsuspecting woman. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
