MCC cracks down on waste segregation violations, fines four hotels

Mangaluru, Apr 22: In a surprise inspection led by the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) commissioner, four hotels in the city were fined for failing to adhere to solid and wet waste segregation guidelines.

The inspection was conducted as part of MCC's ongoing enforcement of waste segregation norms for hotels, residential buildings, and apartments.

Officials found violations at all four establishments and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each. The MCC has warned that repeated violations by the same establishments will attract higher penalties.

The civic body has urged all commercial and residential units to strictly follow the waste segregation guidelines to ensure better sanitation and environmental responsibility.
