Bantwal, Apr 22: The Congress government in Karnataka is a model for the entire country, said state vice president of the Five Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, Pushpa Amaranath. She was speaking at the inaugural of the state’s first “Guarantee Sambhramotsava” held at Sparsha Kala Mandira, B C Road in Bantwal taluk on the occasion of the second anniversary of the implementation of the five guarantee schemes.

“The BJP, which once criticised the guarantee schemes, is now trying to replicate Karnataka’s Congress model in its own bid to return to power. There is no ‘Gujarat model’ here,” Pushpa Amaranath asserted.

She stated that the Congress party implements policies that empower people and does not rely on emotional narratives to win power. She lauded the Bantwal Taluk Implementation Committee, led by chairperson Jayanti V Poojary, for organising the state’s first such celebration in a grand manner, calling it a model for the rest of Karnataka.

Pushpa Amaranath further said that the guarantee schemes and the Janaseva grievance redressal camps held across the state have made a significant impact. She promised to bring the achievements of the Bantwal unit to the attention of the chief minister, deputy chief minister, and the chairperson of the implementation authority.

Committee chairperson Jayanti V Poojary, in her introductory address, said the taluk committee had made sincere efforts to ensure that the schemes reached all eligible beneficiaries.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai, speaking on the occasion, criticised the Union government for withholding Karnataka’s share of taxes. “Despite this, the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has not faltered in implementing pro-poor welfare schemes. The successful implementation of the guarantee schemes is proof,” he said.

District president of the Guarantee Implementation Committee Bharat Mundodi commended the leadership of Jayanti V Poojary. KPCC general secretary Padmaraj R Poojary, Bood committee president Baby Kundar, Gera Nigam chairperson Mamata Gatti, district vice president Narayana Naik, ZP planning director K E Jayaram, CDPO department deputy director Usman, Bantwal tahsildar Archana Bhat, and officials Anand, Y M Badiger, Venkatesh, Anita Madlor, Pradeep D’Souza, Sachin Kumar, KSRTC Puttur division controller Ramalingaiah, Mangaluru division controller Rajesh Shetty, Mescom officer Venkatesh G H, Anita, Surekha Chandrashekar, and Jockim D’Souza were present.

Committee presidents Sudheer Kumar, Umanath Shetty, Shahul Hameed, and Padmanabh Saliyan, along with taluk committee members, also attended.
