Imanvi denounces hate rumors, affirms her Indian American roots

Chennai, Apr 24: In an earnest Instagram message, debutante actress Imanvi—cast opposite Prabhas in director Hanu Raghavapudi’s upcoming film—condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam and forcefully rejected online fabrications linking her family to the Pakistani military.

Opening with heartfelt sympathy, Imanvi mourned the innocent lives lost and decried the violence. “My heart goes out to every family shattered by this senseless act,” she wrote. “I stand against these atrocities and hope for a day when art unites us rather than divides.”

Turning to the swirling rumors, she categorically denied that “anyone in my family has ever served or is serving in the Pakistani armed forces.” She lamented that unverified claims—peddled by trolls and, alarmingly, repeated by some media outlets—were “designed solely to stoke hatred.”

Imanvi then laid out her true background: a proud Indian American fluent in Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, and English, born in Los Angeles to parents who immigrated legally as youths and later became U.S. citizens. After earning her degree stateside, she pursued a multifaceted career in acting, choreography, and dance—pathways she now brings to Telugu cinema.

Grateful for her entry into Indian film, Imanvi paid tribute to the industry’s pioneers and vowed to honor their legacy. “My heritage runs deep; I aim to use my art to bridge cultures, not widen gaps,” she affirmed.

Concluding on a message of solidarity, she urged everyone to support one another through kindness and creativity. “Art fosters empathy and connection,” she wrote. “I promise to carry that torch forward, uplifting stories that celebrate my Indian heritage.”
