Mangaluru: Day-long forensic workshop held at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Apr 26: A one-day hands-on workshop on the theme ‘Crime Investigation’ was successfully conducted on April 11, organised by department of forensic medicine, Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences And Research Centre (SIMS&RC) , and department of Forensic Science, IAHS, Srinivas University in collaboration with PG department of criminology and forensic science, School of Social Work.

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide practical insights into crime scene management, procedure of exhumation, and the legal and procedural aspects of exhumation.

The workshop commenced with an inaugural session led by Dr Uday Kumar Rao, dean, SIMS&RC and Prof Pavana Krishnamoorthy, dean, IAHS who highlighted the importance of forensic science in modern criminal investigations and need of such hands-on trainings. This was followed by expert sessions, exhumation and moot court.

A total of 27 students from School of Social work, Mangaluru had attended this programme under the student exchange programme.
