Tragic shooting in Washington leaves three Indian-origin individuals dead

Washington, May 1: A devastating incident unfolded in Newcastle, Washington, where three individuals of Indian origin were found dead following a shooting at a townhome on April 24. The victims were identified as Shwetha Panyam (41), Dhruva Kikkeri (14), and Harshavardhana Kikkeri (44).

According to the King County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 7 PM and discovered blood on the front window of the residence along with a lone hollow-point bullet in the street. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Panyam and Dhruva Kikkeri had died from gunshot wounds, with their deaths being classified as homicides. Harshavardhana Kikkeri's death, however, was determined to be a suicide.

Sheriff's spokesperson Brandyn Hull refrained from confirming whether the case involved a murder-suicide and stressed that the investigation was ongoing. "An investigation such as this takes time, and our detectives are working diligently to piece together what led to this incident," Hull stated. Further details, including the possible motive and the relationship between the deceased individuals, have not been released.

The homeowners' association president, Alex Gumina, revealed that the family of four had been living in the townhome but kept to themselves. Authorities have not yet provided any updates on the progress of the investigation.

The tragic loss has left the community in shock, and officials continue to urge the public to await further updates as the investigation unfolds.
