M'lore: Dr M V Shetty Memorial Inter-Physiotherapy Cricket Tourney Concludes

Mangalore, Jan 21: The second and final day of the state-level 17th Dr M V Shetty Memorial Inter-Physiotherapy Colleges Cricket Tournament for boys and girls saw the teams from participating colleges battling it out to get their places in the final match at NMPT ground, Panambur, on Thursday January 18.

In the boys’ category, the final match was between Srinivas College of Physiotherapy and Laxmi College of Physiotherapy.

In the girls’ section, the final was between Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy and Fr Muller College of Physiotherapy.

The winner of the tournament in boys’ segment was Srinivas College and the runners-up was Laxmi College of Physiotherapy.  In the girls’ segment, the winner was Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy and the runner-up was Fr Muller College of Physiotherapy.

The tournament concluded with prize distribution by chief guest former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, and Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust trustee Dr Ranjith Shetty.

National women’s swimming team physiotherapist Dr Poornima Raman was the guest of honour on the occasion.

‘Best Fielder Male’ was given to Tanay of Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy and ‘Best Fielder Female’ was awarded to Saraswati of Vikas College of Physiotherapy.

‘Best Bowler Male’ was given to Najumel of Laxmi College of Physiotherapy and ‘Best Bowler Female’ went to Melini of Fr Muller College of Physiotherapy. ‘Best Batsman’ went to Jignesh of Srinivas College of Physiotherapy and ‘Best Batswoman’ was awarded to Maria from Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.

‘All-rounder’ among the boys was Vijayanand of Srinivas College of Physiotherapy and among girls, it was Sarika of Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.

Dr U T Ifthikar Ali, convener, 17th Dr M V Shetty Memorial Inter-Physiotherapy Colleges Cricket Tournament, proposed the vote of thanks.
