Mangaluru, May 2: Two youths were attacked in separate incidents reported from Kuntikan and Kannur on May 2.
In Kuntikan, unidentified assailants arrived in a car and attempted to murder Lukman, a resident of Ullal involved in the fish business. He narrowly escaped after a woman raised an alarm, drawing public attention to the incident. Lukman was later taken to the hospital for treatment. The attack was captured on CCTV.
The woman’s scream alerted others, which likely saved Lukman’s life. The assailants eventually dropped him off at a police station.
In a separate incident, another youth, Naushad, was attacked by three miscreants at Kannur while on his way to the market. He has been admitted to a private hospital.
