Bhopal, May 3: Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Vishwas Sarang, stated on Saturday that individuals who target Hindu girls for "love-jihad" and rape minor girls should receive no leniency and should be "shot dead."
His comments follow an incident where Farhan, the main accused in a sexual assault and blackmail case involving girls, was shot in the leg after allegedly attempting to seize a police officer's pistol.
Minister Sarang, a senior BJP leader and MLA from Bhopal's Narela constituency, asserted, "Those who commit heinous crime and rape minor girls should be shot dead. Such criminals are a burden on human society, and they deserve no leniency. It would have been better if the police shot him (Farhan) in his chest, instead of leg."

According to the police, Farhan asked to stop the vehicle to use the washroom. He then allegedly snatched a Sub-inspector's pistol, and during the ensuing struggle, he was shot in the leg.
Hemant Srivastava, the police station in-charge of Bhopal's Ashoka Garden area, explained that they were taking Farhan to Bilkisganj village to search for another accused, Abrar, who is currently absconding. He corroborated the account of Farhan attempting to seize the pistol and being shot in the leg during the incident.
Farhan was reportedly part of a gang in Bhopal accused of drugging, raping, and filming female students, subsequently using the footage for blackmail. The police registered a case on April 25th after three students from a private college reported the incidents.
The police investigation also revealed that Farhan and his associates primarily targeted female students who had moved to Bhopal from other cities for their education, as they had more freedom of movement, making them easier to connect with and manipulate.
