Mangalore: Serial Killer’s Hearing to Resume on January 23

Mangalore, Jan 21: Hearing into the case relating to killing 20 young ladies after promising to marry them and then feeding poison before looting them, levelled against  Mohan Kumar, will resume at the fast track court here on January 23.

Mohan was arrested on October 21, 2009, after his wrongdoings came to light relating to Barimar Anita murder.

In the first phase of hearing which went on from November 21 to December 9, 2011, Mohan Kumar had argued his own case, without seeking help of lawyers. Over 50 witnesses were examined relating the murder of Barimar Anita, Leelavati from near Venur, and Sunanda from Peruvaje, Sullia taluk.

Special prosecutor, Cheyyabba Beary, said that recording of evidences in these cases will be held from January 23 to 25 and again from January 31 to February 2.  Three forensic experts, a person who used to suppliy cyanide to Mohan, and some police officials are among those who will be examined, he added.
