Mangalore University Awards PhD Degrees to Two

Mangalore, Jan 21: Chandrashekhar R V, who had prepared his thesis on the subject of ‘Karnataka Special Economic Zones – A Sociologial Study’, has been awarded doctorate by Mangalore University. He had conducted research under the guidance of Prof Jogan Shankar, dean and head of sociology department of the university.  Chandrashekhar at present has been serving Bangalore University as a guest lecturer in the department of sociology.

Gayatri N also has been awarded PhD by the university for her thesis on ‘Self Help Groups and Empowerment of Tribal Women’, prepared by her under the guidance of Dr M Gurulingaiah of Kuvempu University. Gayatri is the daughter of Narnappa Salian and Sulochana couple from Bajal Pallakere, and wife of Maroli Naveen Kotian. She has been working as a guest lecturer in Mangalore University.
