Bengaluru, May 8: The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has extended full support to aspirants of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) exams, calling out the Congress-led state government for alleged mismanagement and irregularities in the recruitment process.

At a press conference in Bengaluru, BJP leader Narayanaswamy, flanked by State President B.Y. Vijayendra and Council Chief Whip N. Ravikumar, voiced strong criticism against the government's handling of the recent examinations.

Narayanaswamy declared, “The BJP will stand with KPSC candidates in their fight against injustice, regardless of the form of protest they undertake.”

Key grievances raised by the aspirants include:

• Translation and printing errors in 70–80 questions in the Kannada-medium exam.
• Delayed arrival of answer sheets at exam centres.
• Alleged police brutality against students protesting at the centres.
• Retaining of controversial retired officials accused of past irregularities.

Narayanaswamy slammed the state government for ignoring the court's directive for a re-examination and accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of making false promises. He also criticized the continued employment of retired officials with alleged records of corruption, suggesting this was done to maintain control over the "loot."

On May 6, BJP state president Vijayendra called the KPSC a "cesspool of irregularities", citing repeated blunders in the preliminary and main exams and accusing the Congress government of jeopardizing the future of thousands of aspirants.

The controversy has sparked outrage among Kannada-medium candidates, who say they are being unfairly disadvantaged by repeated administrative failures.
