Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru
Mangaluru, May 13: Three days ago, Daijiworld reported a news story highlighting the safety risks posed by the Kulur old bridge due to the lack of adequate protective measures.
Travellers commuting from Udupi to Mangaluru may have observed that the right side of the old bridge lacked proper protection—only a temporary barricade had been installed. This created a potential risk of vehicles veering off into the river, especially during night time travel.

The situation was particularly alarming as the minimal safety barrier could easily be missed by drivers, significantly increasing the likelihood of an accident.
Following Daijiworld's report, the issue was brought to the notice of the concerned authorities. Deputy commissioner (DC) Mullai Muhilan responded promptly and initiated the installation of proper railings on the Kulur old bridge to help prevent any potential tragedies.
