Bhuj, May 20: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Bhuj on May 26, massive preparations are underway, with local authorities sparing no effort to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. A high-level review meeting was convened at the Bhuj Collector's office, chaired by Gujarat Minister Praful Pansheriya, to assess arrangements for what is expected to be a large-scale public gathering.
Kutch District Collector Anand Patel made a detailed presentation during the meeting, outlining key components of the event, including stage construction on Bhuj-Mirzapar Road, seating for dignitaries and the general public, designated parking zones, power and sanitation arrangements, and robust security deployment.
The event will feature Prime Minister Modi inaugurating and laying foundation stones for several development projects aimed at boosting the region’s infrastructure and connectivity. A grand dome-shaped structure is being erected at the venue to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
Minister Pansheriya also reviewed a list of proposed projects and issued strategic suggestions to streamline the overall execution. He examined the coordination between various administrative and event management committees to ensure seamless functioning on the day of the visit.
Before addressing the public rally, Prime Minister Modi is slated to visit the Naliya Airbase to interact with soldiers stationed there. These troops played a significant role during heightened tensions with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor—India’s counter-terror initiative across the border. This visit is expected to be a morale booster for the armed forces deployed in the region.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is likely to offer prayers at the revered Mata Ashapura temple, a key spiritual landmark in Kutch, before heading to the public event venue.
The review meeting was attended by Kutch MP Vinod Chavda, District Panchayat President Janaksinh Jadeja, and local MLAs including Keshubhai Patel, Maltiben Maheshwari, and Pradyumansinh Jadeja. Following the meeting, the entire team conducted an on-site inspection of the Bhuj-Mirzapar Road venue, issuing final instructions to expedite the remaining works.
The visit is expected to be a significant moment for Kutch, as several long-awaited development initiatives will receive a much-needed push from the Prime Minister’s presence.
