Tamil Nadu braces for scheduled power cuts on May 22 and 23

Daijiworld Media Network – Chennai

Chennai, May 22: Residents across Chennai and several districts of Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore and Avadi, are set to experience scheduled power outages today and tomorrow as part of maintenance operations by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO).

The electricity supply disruption, which began on Thursday, May 22, is scheduled to last up to eight hours in most regions, primarily between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. TANGEDCO has urged residents to plan their daily routines accordingly and assured that power will be restored ahead of schedule if work is completed earlier.

These outages are attributed to routine maintenance tasks, including minor electrical repairs and clearing of tree branches that pose risks to power lines.
