Bikaner, May 22: Bikaner witnessed a wave of excitement and national pride on Thursday, May 22, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the redeveloped Amrit Bharat Deshnoke Railway Station and flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai train service, marking a significant step in enhancing railway infrastructure and connectivity.

Upon arriving at Nal Airbase, PM Modi headed straight to the historic Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, where he offered prayers and sought blessings. Welcomed by the temple authorities with a symbolic replica of the Karni Mata Temple, he also presented a donation and offered ‘prasad’ at the sanctum, embracing the spiritual fervour of the region.

The Prime Minister was received by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. At the Deshnoke railway station, PM Modi inspected an exhibition showcasing regional culture and railway advancements, where students presented him with paintings, creating a heartwarming moment of interaction.

This is PM Modi’s first visit to Rajasthan since the precision strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7. Drawing parallels to his iconic address post-Pulwama in Churu, he is set to deliver a rousing speech at a massive public meeting in Palana village, near Bikaner.

With over one lakh people expected, the venue in Palana has been fortified with elaborate arrangements, including a large pandal and multi-tiered seating. His road journey to the venue, just 8 km away, marks a significant gesture of connecting with the grassroots.

During the event, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate 103 Amrit Bharat Stations across India and lay the foundation for development projects worth Rs 26,000 crore. These include:

  • 1,000 km of electrified railway tracks
  • Seven major road development projects
  • Three vehicle underpasses
  • PowerGrid transmission initiatives
  • 900 km of national highways in Rajasthan

These projects are expected to revamp regional connectivity, boost logistics, and create a surge in employment opportunities.

After concluding his address, PM Modi will board a helicopter to Nal Airport at 12.30 p.m., from where he is scheduled to depart for New Delhi around 1.15 p.m.

With this visit, PM Modi once again underscores his government’s commitment to modern infrastructure, regional development, and spiritual heritage — a blend that resonates deeply with the people of Rajasthan.
