Principal arrested for allegedly assaulting 17-year-old student in Mumbai

Mumbai, May 22: A 37-year-old college principal has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and molesting a 17-year-old girl student at his college, according to police reports.

The arrest was made by the MHB Police following a complaint filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and charges of molestation.

The victim, a resident of Nagpada in south Mumbai, had been subjected to inappropriate behavior and harassment by the principal over several months. Reports indicate that between June 2024 and May 2025, the accused made repeated sexual advances and pressured the girl to enter into a romantic relationship.

Initially, the victim remained silent out of fear, but eventually, she could no longer endure the mental and physical harassment and approached the MHB Police to report the incidents.

The accused is currently in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
