New Delhi, May 22: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced that 2,95,237 people have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), gaining access to free medical treatment worth up to Rs 10 lac.

Reviewing healthcare initiatives in a high-level meeting, CM Gupta also shared that 1,23,242 senior citizens above 70 years have enrolled under the PM Vaya Vandana Yojana (PMVVY).

“Our government is working 24×7 to ensure affordable and quality healthcare for all. A healthy Delhi is the foundation of a Viksit Delhi,” said Gupta.

She informed that around 100 hospitals in Delhi are empanelled under PMJAY and PMVVY. Beneficiaries can also avail treatment outside Delhi in empanelled hospitals nationwide.

On hospital infrastructure, the CM said several construction and upgradation projects are underway and urged departments to complete them swiftly. All hospitals, she stressed, must meet Indian Public Health Standards and be equipped with modern facilities, staff, and essential medicines.

Gupta also spoke about Ayushman Arogya Mandirs being set up under the Ayushman Bharat Mission. As many as 1,139 centres will come up across Delhi, with around 15 in each Assembly constituency, offering free basic health services and awareness programmes.
