Mangaluru, May 23: In a shocking incident at Thokkottu Junction, two auto-rickshaw drivers barged into a bakery and assaulted the shop owner and his son after being asked to move a parked vehicle. The entire episode was captured on the bakery's CCTV, and a complaint has been registered at Ullal police station.

The altercation began when Ashwin Kumar, owner of Maruti Sweets bakery, requested auto driver Basheer to slightly move his tempo rickshaw, which was parked obstructively in front of the shop. Angered by the request, Basheer, along with his fellow auto driver Ishaan, stormed into the bakery and attempted to assault Ashwin.

Ashwin’s mother and a female staff member inside the bakery tried to intervene but were also pushed and nearly assaulted by the duo. The situation escalated until Suchivrutha Shetty, owner of the adjacent Shivasagar Hotel, intervened and managed to push the assailants out of the bakery.

The incident, including the attempted assault, was recorded on the bakery’s CCTV system. Ashwin has since filed a formal complaint at Ullal police station against Basheer and Ishaan, accusing them of assault and issuing death threats to him and his mother.

The police are investigating the matter based on the footage and complaint provided.
