Mumbai, May 25: 23-year-old man from Chhattisgarh was arrested earlier this week for illegally entering Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, police confirmed on Thursday.

The accused, identified as Jitendra Kumar Singh, reportedly entered the actor’s apartment complex on May 20 at around 7:15 pm by sneaking in with a car belonging to another resident of the building.

According to police officials, Singh was first spotted loitering outside Khan’s residence at around 9:45 am the same day. When the security personnel deployed for the actor's protection instructed him to leave, an enraged Singh smashed his own mobile phone in frustration.

Undeterred, Singh later gained access to the premises using the vehicle of a resident but was stopped by police once again. He was immediately detained and handed over to Bandra police.

During interrogation, Singh told police that he had no malicious intent and only wanted to meet Salman Khan. “The police were not letting me meet him so I was trying to hide,” he reportedly stated.

Police have registered a case against Singh, and further investigations are underway, officials added.

Salman Khan has been under Y+ category security since April 14 last year, when two assailants on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside his Bandra home. The attack was later claimed by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, which is known to have threatened Khan multiple times, allegedly due to the actor's involvement in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case—an animal considered sacred by the Bishnoi community.

Earlier this year, the actor also received a bomb threat via WhatsApp, warning that he would be killed and his car blown up. That case was registered at Worli Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
