Tourists frolic at Paladka Erugundi falls amid heavy rain, locals rescue visitors from danger

Moodbidri, May 26: Despite relentless rainfall across Dakshina Kannada district, tourists were seen enjoying themselves at the Paladka Erugundi Falls here, raising serious safety concerns.

Even as rivers and streams continue to overflow due to the heavy downpour, visitors were spotted engaging in recreational activities at the popular falls. On Sunday, a group of tourists found themselves in a dangerous situation while enjoying the site, but were fortunately rescued in time by alert local residents.

A video of the rescue operation has since gone viral on social media, drawing public attention to the risks associated with venturing into such locations during the monsoon. Locals have pointed out that several lives have been lost in similar situations in the past.

Urging preventive action, residents have called on the police department to step in immediately and caution tourists against visiting such spots during adverse weather conditions.
