Amritsar, May 27: A powerful explosion rocked the Majitha Road Bypass area of Amritsar on Tuesday morning, leaving a suspected terrorist critically injured. The blast occurred around 9:30 am, sending shockwaves through the neighbourhood.

According to officials, the injured man’s arms were blown off in the explosion. Initially believed to be a scrap dealer who accidentally triggered an explosive while dismantling metal waste, the case has now taken a serious turn with authorities confirming a possible terror link.

Startled locals rushed to the site upon hearing the blast and alerted the police. A team arrived swiftly and launched a thorough investigation.

While early reports had ruled out any connection to gangsters or terror outfits, a government spokesperson later confirmed that the man is now considered a 'suspected terrorist'.

The injured individual was immediately shifted to a hospital and remains in critical condition. Police and intelligence agencies are continuing their probe to uncover the full extent of the incident and any possible network involved.
