Udupi, May 28: On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, a poster making competition was organized at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal. The event was jointly conducted by the NSS-YRC Unit and the counselling cell of SMVITM.
Students from engineering and management of SMVITM Niraamaya College of nursing took part in the competition with great enthusiasm. The creative posters reflected the harmful effects of tobacco and emphasized the importance of a tobacco-free lifestyle.



The initiative aimed to create awareness among youth about the serious health risks associated with tobacco consumption and to encourage healthier lifestyle choices. A total of 23 teams actively participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and commitment to the cause. Among them, two outstanding teams were recognized and awarded for their impactful and innovative presentations.
The programme was graced by the presence of the principal and CEO, SMVITM, along with members of the NSS-YRC committee and the counselling cell. The organizing team appreciated the active participation and creativity of the students in spreading awareness through art.
