New Delhi, May 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) meeting on Wednesday to review infrastructure projects worth over Rs 62,000 crore. The review spanned critical sectors such as roads, power, water resources, and semiconductors, and involved participation from both central and state government agencies.
Taking to social media on Thursday, PM Modi said, “Chaired a PRAGATI meeting yesterday, where projects worth over Rs 62,000 crore were reviewed, covering diverse sectors like roads, power, water resources, semiconductors and more.”
Stressing the significance of timely execution, the Prime Minister urged authorities to ensure that no project is delayed, noting that such delays inflate costs and deny citizens access to essential infrastructure.
“Emphasised on ensuring all infra projects are completed on time. Also deliberated on RERA-related grievances. It’s our Government’s priority to ensure justice for homebuyers,” he added in the post.
The session focused on three major infrastructure initiatives with a cumulative cost exceeding Rs 62,000 crore, located across several states and union territories. PM Modi highlighted the strategic importance of these projects and directed all concerned departments to overcome implementation hurdles at the earliest.
In addition to project reviews, the Prime Minister also examined public grievances related to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). He called for swift and fair resolution of complaints and urged state governments to ensure that all eligible real estate projects are registered under RERA guidelines.
PM Modi emphasized that strict compliance with RERA rules is crucial to restoring and maintaining public trust in the housing sector.
The meeting also included discussions on the development of India's semiconductor ecosystem. The Prime Minister praised innovative efforts already underway in some states and encouraged replication of successful models to strengthen the National Semiconductor Mission.
According to official data, since its inception, PRAGATI has facilitated the review of 373 projects with a combined value of approximately Rs 20.64 lakh crore.
