Mangalore, Jan 24: In a bid to retain its existence in DK district, the BJP party is using religious sentiments of the people, and dividing the society based on it to win in the upcoming Loksabha election in Udupi, alleged D K District Congress Minority Cell president B A Mohiuddin Bava.

He was addressing a press conference here on Monday January 23.

He added that Dr Prabhakar Bhat is leading a role to divide the society through his provocative speech. He has been continuously targeting the people of minority community. When a minority community person commits any such mistake the Government takes legal action, however police are sitting helpless to take action against Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. This is because he is controlling the police system in the district, he further alleged.

He also said that BJP is trying to win the election on Hindutva mechanism, hence it is getting into such low level tricks. This is strongly condemned and protested by the Congress party, Bava said.

When initially the leaders met the SP to request him not to allow Dr Prabhakar Bhat to speak during Hindu Samajotsava in Belthangady, SP assured that he will not speak provocatively, but he again tried to destroy the unity of the people in the district. Bhat should be immediately arrested by the police, he demanded.

Youth congress president Mithun Rai, former mayor Ashraf among others were present at the press meet.
