New Delhi, May 29: Satyam Gandhi, a determined young man from Bihar, achieved an extraordinary milestone by cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2020 with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) 10. With unwavering dedication and focus, Satyam cleared what is considered one of India’s toughest examinations — and did so in his very first attempt. His success story is one of grit, sacrifice, and smart strategy.

A native of Samastipur, Bihar, Satyam completed his early education at Kendriya Vidyalaya, before enrolling in Dyal Singh College, Delhi University, where he pursued a BA (Hons) in Political Science. It was during the final year of his graduation that the dream of cracking the UPSC CSE took shape.
To prepare seriously, Satyam relocated to Rajendra Nagar, Delhi — known for its concentration of UPSC aspirants and coaching institutes. His preparation journey, however, leaned heavily on self-study, combined with selective coaching. According to media reports, he followed a disciplined routine, studying for 8–9 hours daily.
“I knew the journey wouldn't be easy. I had to stay away from family events and social distractions to give it my best,” he reportedly said. Satyam also made use of online resources, which helped him stay updated and efficient in his approach. He placed significant emphasis on mock tests to assess and refine his preparation.
His efforts culminated in success when the CSE 2020 results were announced, and Satyam Gandhi secured AIR 10 — a proud moment for his family, community, and the entire state of Bihar.
From a small town to the national stage, Satyam’s story reflects the power of hard work and vision. His achievement serves as a guiding light for thousands of young aspirants who dare to dream big and are willing to work relentlessly towards it.
