Mumbai, May 29: As part of the centenary celebrations of Gokul organised by the Gopalakrishna Public Trust and the B S K B. Association, a week-long Bhagavad Gita discourse (Pravachana Saptaha) was held from Monday, May 19 to Sunday, May 25 at the Gokul Sabha Bhavan.

The discourses were delivered by Vidwan Kutpady Krishnaraj Acharya, a professor at Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha, who eloquently presented selected verses from all 18 chapters of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. His interpretations, spoken in an uninterrupted and resonant tone, conveyed the spiritual essence and guidance of the Gita in a way that deeply moved the assembled devotees.

The inaugural ceremony took place on Monday, May 19. The programme was formally opened with the lighting of the lamp by Vidwan Krishnaraj Acharya, B S K B. Association treasurer Haridas Bhat, joint treasurer Ganesh Bhat, joint secretary Mohanraj, and Gopalakrishna Public Trust trustee Shailini Rao. The event began on an auspicious note with Vedic chants led by Vedamurthy Daregudde Srinivas Bhat and the group of archakas.

Haridas Bhat welcomed the gathering and introduced the speaker.

Every evening, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm, Vidwan Krishnaraj Bhat delivered profound explanations on selected verses of the Gita, emphasising the timeless wisdom and spiritual direction offered by the divine discourse for the upliftment of mankind.

On the concluding day, Sunday, May 25, after the final pravachana – offered as a spiritual dedication to Lord Krishna – a valedictory function was held. Dr Suresh S Rao presided over the event, with general secretary A P K Poti, treasurer Haridas Bhat, and priests Giridhar Udupa and Ramavithala Kalluraya honouring the speaker by adorning him with a traditional shawl, seat of respect (peetha), and offering fruits and tokens of gratitude.
