Kundapur, May 30: A regional conference on the theme 'High Risk and Critical Care Obstetrics' was organized at the auditorium of Moodlakatte College of Nursing.
The programme was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by chief guests Dr Reena Wilma Frank, professor at Father Muller College; Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, brand building director of IMJ Institutions; and Roopashree K S, vice principal of Moodlakatte College.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ramakrishna Hegde congratulated the MCA department faculty for organizing the conference and appreciated the constant encouragement provided by Siddharth Shetty, chairman of IMJ Institutions, in conducting such academic events.
The inaugural session was followed by expert lectures delivered by invited subject specialists.
Dr Reena Wilma Frank was the first speaker and gave an insightful presentation on “Artificial Intelligence in obstetrics”, educating students about the emerging role of AI in maternal healthcare.
This was followed by a practical session by Dr Sonia R B D’Souza and Ranjani P from Manipal College of Nursing, who elaborated on the “Management of severe hypertension during pregnancy”, engaging both students and faculty participants.
In the afternoon session, Dr Priyanka Jogi, a renowned gynaecologist from Navamas Clinic, delivered a talk on “Shoulder Dystocia”, shedding light on its management and implications.
The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony in the evening. Certificates were distributed to the participants by Roopashree KS, vice principal of the college.
The event was anchored by final-year student Serena, while Manjunath delivered the vote of thanks. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from nursing students and faculty members of various colleges.
