Kasargod: Woman killed, two injured in car-lorry collision near Uppala Gate

Kasargod, May 30: In a tragic road accident near Uppala Gate on the National Highway, a 30-year-old woman lost her life while two others sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred on Friday, May 30, and involved a collision between a car and a lorry.

The deceased has been identified as Navya (30), wife of Padmanabha, a resident of Mangaluru. Her husband Padmanabha and their child, who were travelling with her, sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

According to sources, the family was returning to Mangaluru after visiting relatives in Uppala, when their car collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was so severe that the lorry driver lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently overturned.

Emergency services rushed to the spot, and the injured were quickly shifted to hospital. Unfortunately, Navya succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
