A total of 460 individuals were tested for the virus across the state today, of which 114 tested positive. Among the 234 active cases, 223 people are currently under home isolation, while 10 patients are receiving hospital care. Of these, one is reported to be on oxygen support, the department confirmed.
The health department is closely monitoring the situation and has assured that appropriate containment and control measures are in place. Officials noted that while the rise in numbers is being taken seriously, the situation is not yet alarming.
Health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has urged the public to remain cautious but calm, stressing the importance of preventive measures such as mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and avoiding crowded places. “There is no need to panic, but vigilance is essential,” he said.
As surveillance efforts continue, authorities are expected to step up testing and awareness drives to contain further spread.
