Fan murder case: Court permits actor Darshan to travel abroad for film shoot

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 30: Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, accused in the high-profile Renukaswamy fan murder case, has been granted court permission to travel abroad for the shooting of his upcoming film.

The 57th City Civil and Sessions Court on Friday approved Darshan’s request to travel overseas from July 1 to 27, despite objections from the Special Public Prosecutor who feared the actor might not return, affecting the ongoing trial.

Currently out on conditional bail, Darshan filed the petition under Section 439(1)(b) of the Criminal Procedure Code to visit Dubai and Europe for the film shoot of Devil: The Hero. The court accepted his plea, acknowledging the necessity of the trip for completing the production.

Darshan, along with co-accused Pavithra and others, was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with the abduction and murder of his fan, Renukaswamy.

A common person would not be out of bail for so long forget traveling abroad. This is the Justice india is delivering to the rich and famous. Do Indians really want to change this system? Or still continue to live in the easy going attitude ( there’s a Hindi dialogue to this but I’m refraining from typing it for obvious reasons). There may be so many people like him in jail who don’t have the liberty like this fellow.

I'm simply curious as to who continues to offer film roles to Darshan, who remains an accused in a murder case and has not been exonerated.
