Karkala, May 31: Christ King Pre-University College, Karkala recently organised an informative session on ‘Adolescent Mental Health Issues’ for its I PUC students. The guest speaker for the programme was Dr Nagarajamurthy, a psychiatrist from Vaikunta Baliga Hospital, Udupi.
Addressing the students, Dr Nagarajamurthy emphasised, “Excessive expectations from parents can naturally create pressure on children. However, students must learn to manage this pressure effectively. Developing a positive hobby can significantly help in reducing stress. It's important for adolescents to stop overthinking about their body image or complexion. Bad habits can ruin one's future, and therefore, students should consciously avoid such distractions.”

The session concluded with an interactive discussion between the students and the resource person. The college principal, vice-principal, and lecturers were present during the event. The session was compered by Meghashree, lecturer in Statistics.
