Violent clash at CIF final: ‘Trantifa’ member attacks man, gets arrested

California, Jun 1: A disturbing video going viral on social media shows a masked individual dressed in all-black violently attacking a man outside Veterans Memorial Stadium, shortly after the CIF State Championship concluded.

The alleged victim, who goes by ‘Oreo Express’ on social platform X, claimed he was targeted by a member of the far-left trans activist group ‘Trantifa.’ “This person called me out by name before striking me multiple times with their flag pole,” he wrote, adding that he used pepper spray in self-defense. The police, who reportedly witnessed the incident, immediately took the attacker into custody.

Another clip shared later showed the suspect sobbing while being arrested. Collin Rugg, who also shared the video, identified the weapon as a transgender flag and linked the attacker to protests over a transgender athlete, AB Hernandez, participating in the girls' track event at the championship.

“Trantifa” is described as a fringe, radical activist group combining transgender identity with Antifa-style protests. Newsweek had earlier reported that members of the group have been accused of using intimidation tactics against those with opposing views.

While Antifa’s main goal is to counter fascism, the Anti-Defamation League notes that not all who associate with it resort to violence. However, the emergence of "Trantifa" has raised fresh concerns around safety and political extremism at public events.
