Udupi: Training Camp on Farm Produce Increase Held

Udupi, Jan 25: Under the aegis of the union ministry of agriculture and Water Resources Technology Centre, Bhubaneshwar, a week-long training camp on techniques in increasing agricultural produce by water resources was held at the Agriculture Science Centre, Brahmavar, for the peasants of Udupi district.

K M Udupa, managing trustee, Bharatiya Vikas Trust, Manipal, inaugurated the training camp.

Bhagirati L, camp organizer, Agriculture Science Centre, Brahmavar, presided over the programme.
Dr Jayaprakash S M was the resource person.

Fifty farmers from the district attended the training camp that focused on rainwater harvesting, conserving water resources and soil, conserving water in hilly region, and making optimum use of water in irrigation.

Dr M Hanumantappa, assistant research director, zonal Agriculture Research Centre, Brahmavar, presided over the valedictory function.
