Mangaluru, Jun 3: A common farewell programme "Alvida 2025" for the final year UG students of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor was held on Saturday, May 31, in the Kalam Auditorium.
The event started with the invocation, which was followed by the presentation of the farewell video. The video beautifully captured the students’ cherished memories and experiences at SJEC, along with heartfelt messages and best wishes from the faculty members.
Dr Rio D’Souza, principal, SJEC welcomed the gathering. The toast was raised by Dr Sanath Saralaya, HoD - Department Electrical & Electronics Engineering. In his toast, he called upon the students to become proud alumni of the college and be the good ambassadors.
On behalf of all final - year students, Sarvika, department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Sohan Austin Mascaranus, department of Computer Science & Engineering replied to the toast who recollected about their time in the college.









The director, Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, delivered the presidential address, wherein he reflected on the students’ journey, highlighted their achievements, and offered words of encouragement for their future endeavours. Following this, the assistant director, Fr Kenneth R Crasta, invoked divine blessings upon the outgoing students, wishing them success, strength, and guidance as they step into a new chapter of their lives. Dr Purushothama Chippar, vice principal graced the occasion.
The farewell event was gracefully compered by Dr Aswathy and Supreetha D R Padmini Bhat, the convener of the programme, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the management, faculty members, and students for their unwavering support in making the event a success.
The formal proceedings concluded with warm wishes extended to the outgoing students, encouraging them as they embark on a new chapter in their lives.
Following the formal segment, the atmosphere turned festive with a vibrant dance performance by the VDC Group, which was then followed by an energetic Baila session, infusing the evening with enthusiasm and joy.
