Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 6: The seventh day of the Tredicina devotion in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony of Padua was marked with heartfelt prayer, reflection, and community spirit at St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, and St Anthony Shrine, Milagres Church, on Friday, June 6.

The theme for the day, ‘Begin serving in the family and journey together as Pilgrims of Hope,’ invited the faithful to rekindle their commitment to love, unity, and service within the domestic Church the family.

At the 6 pm Mass at Milagres Church, the main celebrant was Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, parish priest of Milagres Church, Mangaluru. In his homily, Fr Nazareth reflected on the essential role of families as the first place where faith is nurtured, values are formed, and love is lived out. He urged the congregation to emulate St Anthony’s spirit of humility and service by becoming witnesses of hope and healing within their homes.

The Mass was concelebrated by Fr J B Crasta, director of St Anthony’s Charitable Institutions, Fr Pravenn Martis, administrator of the Ashram and Fr Gilbert D’Souza, Chaplain of the Ashram.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, Fr Gilbert D’Souza conducted the novena devotion, offering prayers and petitions of the devotees to St Anthony, invoking his powerful intercession for families, the sick, the poor, and all in need.

At St Anthony Ashram, Jeppu, the day began with Masses at 6 am and 11:30 am, drawing a large number of faithful. A free lunch was served to all devotees attending the novena, continuing the Ashram’s tradition of charity and hospitality.
