Muzaffarnagar, Jun 6: A 22-year-old man named Sudhanshu was arrested by police near Jamalpur canal culvert in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, after being found carrying ten illegal country-made pistols and cartridges.

Posing as a delivery agent working for a food delivery aggregator, Sudhanshu was actually transporting illegal arms across Haryana, Delhi, and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

Police had launched a search operation following intelligence about an illegal arms supplier in the area. Sudhanshu was stopped while trying to hurry past the checkpoint.

On interrogation, he admitted to using the delivery agent cover in Haryana’s Karnal district to supply country-made weapons.

Muzaffarnagar Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma said, “Further questioning of Sudhanshu is underway, and efforts are on to identify both the suppliers and recipients of these weapons.”
