Mangaluru, Jun 7: As part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 5, the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized two impactful literary events article writing titled ‘Voices for the Earth’ and slogan writing titled ‘Green Words: Say It, Save It'. Both events were held under the guidance of dean, Dr Pavithra Kumari and HOD Anjana T V Institute of Aviation Studies, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and encouraging students to express their ideas creatively and thoughtfully.
The article writing competition focused on the theme ‘Nature Doesn’t Need Us, We Need Nature', inviting students to reflect on the importance of nature and their responsibility in protecting it. A total of 20 students from BBA aviation management, BBA aviation & logistics management, and BBA aviation travel and tourism management participated, presenting well-written articles that demonstrated critical thinking and deep concern for the environment. Shreya Venkappa Vajrangi from III BBA aviation management won first place, while Yashoda J Nagaral, also from the same course, secured second place.




The slogan writing competition encouraged students to communicate strong environmental messages through short and powerful statements. Eight students from both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing originality, clarity, and creativity. Ayesha Riza from II BBA aviation & logistics management was declared the winner, and Mashood J from the same programme was the runner-up. Both competitions proved to be successful platforms for students to raise their voices for the environment and highlight the importance of building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable world through the power of words.
