New Delhi, Jun 7: With Eid ul-Azha to be celebrated on Saturday, Delhi Police has stepped up security arrangements across the national capital to ensure peaceful and orderly celebrations. Officials confirmed heavy deployment in sensitive areas, including personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF), paramilitary units, and local police.
Check posts have been established at multiple locations, and electronic surveillance has been ramped up to monitor suspicious activity. "We are maintaining strict vigilance and monitoring social media to prevent the spread of misinformation or communal provocation. Action will be taken against those violating the law," a senior police officer said.

Authorities have made it clear that open-air animal sacrifices, prayers in public spaces without permission, and the sacrifice of prohibited animals are not allowed. As part of the safety strategy, foot patrols, drone surveillance, and intensified night patrolling are being carried out in sensitive zones.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, Delhi Traffic Police is actively managing routes and keeping an eye out for violations. In efforts to promote communal harmony, police across districts have held Aman Committee meetings with religious leaders and community representatives.
In East Delhi, SHO of Pandav Nagar police station visited Kotla Idgah and coordinated security measures with local Imams. DCP (East) Abhishek Dhania said such initiatives are being carried out citywide. “Delhi Police and community leaders are working together to ensure the Eid festivities are celebrated peacefully and in unity,” added another officer.
