Mangaluru, Jun 9: Tyson Baptist D'Cunha, a native of Madanthyar, Beltangady, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, for his thesis titled “Design and Development of Blockchain-Based Authentication Protocols for IoT Devices Using Physical Unclonable Functions.”
His research explored advanced security mechanisms for the Internet of Things (IoT) using cryptographic primitives, quantum cryptography, and decentralized blockchain technologies.
He pursued his doctoral research under the guidance of Dr Kiran M, Department of Information Technology, NITK, Surathkal.


Dr Tyson is currently working at EG DK Pvt Ltd. His thesis contributes significantly to the field of cybersecurity and IoT, offering innovative solutions for secure device authentication in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
