Prior to his visit to the capital, CM Yogi was in Auraiya on Sunday, where he addressed the Kisan Samman Samaroh. During the event, he outlined the government’s farmer-centric initiatives launched since 2014 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CM Yogi highlighted key schemes such as the Soil Health Card Scheme, the Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, the Agricultural Insurance Scheme, and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. Speaking to a large gathering of farmers, he said that the government had transformed the agricultural sector, not just through welfare schemes but by ensuring that farmers now form a crucial part of the national political agenda.
Stressing the success of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the CM noted that over Rs 3.25 lakh crore had been directly transferred into the accounts of 12 crore farmers across the nation, making it the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme.
Recalling the condition of agriculture in 2017, CM Yogi stated that his government had launched a Rs 36,000 crore loan waiver program for 86 lakh farmers in its initial days. He added that this was followed by intensive implementation of the Agricultural Irrigation Scheme to enhance irrigation facilities across Uttar Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also conducted an aerial survey of maize crops en route from Lucknow to Auraiya, showcasing the government’s continued focus on agrarian development and real-time assessment of farmers' needs.
With a renewed focus on empowering farmers, CM Yogi reaffirmed his government's commitment to strengthening the agricultural backbone of Uttar Pradesh under the vision of a double-engine government.
