Lombard Memorial Hospital Group of Institutions observes World Environment Day

Udupi, Jun 11: Lombard Memorial Hospital Group of Institutions observed World Environment Day, on June 6, at the Multipurpose Hall.

The programme was symbolically inaugurated by watering a plant.

Madhusoodan Heroor, advisor, GIANTS Group Brahmavara, emphasized the importance of transforming information into action and highlighted this year's World Environment Day theme, ‘Beat plastic pollution.’

Dr Roshan Pais, principal, Lombard Academy of Health Sciences, enlightened the students on the importance of planting trees and the contributions made under the INSPIRE project's Green Hospital initiative.

As part of the programme, saplings were distributed to all INSPIRE heads, and a collective effort was made by planting the saplings.

The programme began with the prayer. Associate professor Celastin Susan welcomed the gathering. PRO Lombard Memorial Hospital Rohi Ratnakar delivered the vote of thanks.

President GIANTS Group Brahmavara Annayya Das, administrative officer LMH Deena Prabhavathi, principal Lombard Memorial School of nursing Veena Menezes, vice principal Lombard Memorial College of nursing Biju Soman and chaplain LMH Rachel D'Silva, were also present on the stage.

Students of Lombard Hospital Group of Institutions, staff and faculty of LMH attended the programme.
