Mangaluru: Early morning fire guts two shops, goods vehicle near Clock Tower

Mangaluru, Jun 14: A major fire accident occurred early Saturday morning near the Clock Tower in Mangaluru city, gutting two shops and a goods vehicle.

The incident, which happened in the early hours of June 14, is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

A garment shop and a scrap shop were completely engulfed in flames, along with a goods vehicle that was parked nearby.


Upon receiving information, fire personnel from Pandeshwar and Kadri fire stations rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the flames after an intense operation. The blaze destroyed property worth several lacs of rupees.
